Concert for George

A celebration of the life of George Harrison

Olivia Harrison, Brian Roylance & over 30 contributors

The Concert for George brought together some of the world's finest performers for an unprecedented night of celebration. Rock stars, comedians and classical musicians took the stage at the The Royal Albert Hall in perfect harmony, united by one thing: a love for their friend George Harrison whose earthly life came to an end exactly one year before.

This beautifully produced book is the story of George Harrison, from his early days right through to the tribute concert that celebrated his life, told by the people that love him.

'We celebrated the life and music of the beautiful 'quiet' one from Liverpool who became a man of many words as well as worlds, a wise, coveted friend, father and true seeker... He did all this, and much more, and still managed to have more fun that the rest of us.' Olivia Harrison

Iconic images from some of the world's most respected photographers feature alongside unseen family photos and holiday snaps.

'You're on holiday with him and every morning he'd say, 'Oh, come and see the trees'. 'Okay, yeah'. And then the next day, 'Oh, come and see the trees'. 'Yeah, okay'. And then, 'Come and see...' 'I've seen your bloody trees!'' Ringo Starr

Concert for George

This limited edition book takes you backstage at one of the most legendary concerts in music history, with a VIP pass, unseen photographs and text from those who attended.

'That was the perfect idea. You have all your best pals on there being groovy and making it interesting. I mean if I had a 'special', I'd like to, you know, have a few people who mean something to me.' George Harrison

Concert for George is more than the story of one concert; it gives unprecedented insight into one of the twentieth century's best-loved songwriters. George's friends and family share their personal memories, with archival photographs from over five decades illustrating their words.

Edited and signed by Olivia Harrison. It features an introduction by Paul Theroux and original text from nearly 40 contributors.

'One side of George was an amazingly soulful, peaceful man seeking karma and all that; the next minute he'd want to get behind the wheel of the most powerful vehicle in the country, driving at 193 miles-an-hour.' Michael Palin

'There was a lot of laughing in the band and George was the ringleader of the whole thing. We called him the "idea man". I miss him you know, I miss him in the night a lot.' Tom Petty
