Ringo Starr received his knighthood yesterday in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where the Duke of Cambridge officially gave him the title.
Starr's award has been bestowed for services to music, and is a testament to his career of more than five decades. The drummer gave his signature peace sign to photographers outside the palace, and expressed his happiness at the honour.
'It means a lot actually. It means recognition for the things we've done. I was really pleased to accept this. I'll be wearing it at breakfast!' - Ringo Starr
