Ten years ago, in the summer of 2016, Genesis published BECK01, the first and only official book by the late Jeff Beck.
Created in close collaboration with Jeff, the signed limited edition brought together five decades of music, photography, guitars and hot rods, telling his story in his own words. All 2,000 copies were personally signed by Jeff, and the edition is now fully subscribed.
On 8 August 2016, Jeff joined Genesis readers at Mel's Drive-In in Los Angeles for Hot Rods and Hamburgers, the book's US launch. Arriving in a '32 Deuce Coupe, Jeff spent the evening signing books among the classic cars at a location immortalised in one of his favourite films, American Graffiti.
Ten years later, Genesis has returned to the archive to create a new anniversary Collector's Piece around an original, untrimmed BECK01 production sheet personally signed by Jeff in 2016 and preserved unused ever since. Paired with an archival portrait of Jeff photographed during the making of the book, each is one of just 100 numbered examples worldwide.
Among the pages produced for BECK01 in 2016 was a group of untrimmed limitation sheets, personally signed by Jeff Beck and set aside unbound.
Produced to be bound into the edition, these unused sheets retain details that disappeared from the finished books: their untrimmed edges, printer's registration marks and period production information.
To mark the tenth anniversary of BECK01, Genesis has created a new framed Collector's Piece incorporating these signed archival pages. Each sheet is presented alongside a portrait of Jeff taken during the making of BECK01, showing him in his hot rod workshop beside a '32 Ford coupe he was building at the time.

The signed page celebrates another of Jeff's automotive creations: his exact recreation of the famous yellow THX 138 Deuce Coupe from American Graffiti. Its distinctive yellow colouring forms the backdrop to Jeff's original signature.
The archival photographic print and signed production sheet are presented side by side in a bespoke black frame, with the full, untrimmed edges of both sheets visible.
The production sheet is printed on both sides. A specially created viewing window on the reverse of the frame reveals another piece of original BECK01 artwork: Jeff performing with his Oxblood Les Paul.
Each Collector's Piece is individually numbered on a Genesis certificate of authenticity, signed by the publisher and framed into the reverse of the piece. The certificate records its provenance and creation for the tenth anniversary of BECK01, preserving its story for the future.
