Unseen 'Help!' - Behind the Scenes With the Beatles

To mark the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ Help! — released on 29th July 1965 — Genesis is excited to announce the final copies of Now These Days Are Gone, the definitive photographic and cultural record of the band at a pivotal moment in their career.

New for 2025, the final 200 copies are presented in an updated commemorative binding, feature an exclusive new print and are signed by Mike McCartney.

For these new Anniversary Copies of Now These Days Are Gone, Mike McCartney contributes a specially written foreword, sharing a first-hand account of his time on set during the filming of Help!. Mike captured scenes from the production — including one that never made the final cut—and shares his impressions of watching the film come together.

The 256-page book pairs Michael Peto’s photographs with contextual essays by Paolo Hewitt and Professor Jim Tomlinson, along with detailed captions that shed light on the making of Help!. A 14-page timeline at the end chronicles the Beatles’ extraordinary year in 1965, contributing to a richly layered portrait of Help! as both a film and a cultural milestone.

With unparalleled access and an artist’s eye, Peto’s photographs reveal the quiet moments, rehearsals, and friendships that shaped this golden moment in Beatles history — far from the screaming crowds and flashing lights.
