Paul Weller Nominated, after 16 years

This week the Mercury Prize announced its 12 records shortlisted for the ‘Album of the year’ award. Among them is PaulWeller with his latest album Wake Up The Nation. The album is the first time that Weller has worked with Jambassist Bruce Foxton since the band split in 1982. Wake Up The Nation is great', Weller said when asked about the nomination.

Wake Up The Nation is also Weller’s first nomination since Wild Wood narrowly missed out on the auspicious Mercury prize in 1994 despitereaching number 2 in the UK charts and firmly establishing Weller as a soloartist. Wild Wood’s album cover famously featured a guitar-playing Weller in shadow looking out into a verdant garden, and was created by leading rock photographer Lawrence Watson.

Watson’s images take centre stage in thesold-out A THOUSAND THINGSlimited edition book by Weller, notably during the Modfather’s solo career.Genesis Publications are pleased to present two of his iconic images asstunning portraits. The prints are made to be breathtaking – produced using aunique metallic photographic paper. Photographers have described the look as “chrome on paper.” The result is a choice of two striking, eye-catching prints. Each limited to only 100 signed copies worldwide.
