This summer, the Bob Dylan Center turns its focus to one of the most electrifying chapters in modern music history with the opening of Thin Wild Mercury: Dylan 1966.
Launching on 18 July 2026, the immersive multimedia exhibition traces Bob Dylan at a moment of transformation—fresh from the shockwaves of Newport and stepping into a year defined by confrontation, creativity, and cultural reinvention.
From the recording sessions of Blonde on Blonde to the incendiary world tour alongside The Band, the exhibition brings together rare manuscripts, unseen photography, and newly restored film to capture the velocity and vision of Dylan’s “thin wild mercury” sound. Alongside encounters with figures such as The Beatles and Andy Warhol, visitors are invited into a world where music, image, and attitude collided with lasting consequence.
This landmark moment is also celebrated in Genesis Publications’ signed limited edition Thin Wild Mercury, created in collaboration with Jerry Schatzberg, whose photographs define the era’s stark, electric aesthetic.
Now down to the final 30 copies of its special anniversary edition, Thin Wild Mercury stands as a definitive companion to Dylan’s 1966 journey—an artefact as immediate and uncompromising as the year it illuminates. As the exhibition opens its doors in Tulsa, both page and gallery offer a rare opportunity to step inside a time when Dylan reshaped the boundaries of modern music.
Since 1974 Genesis has created signed limited edition books on behalf of authors and artists ranging from the Beatles to Buckingham Palace.
