10 Years Later: Remembering Prince

As we mark the 10th anniversary of Prince’s passing, today is not just about remembering a musical icon, but also celebration.

In Chuck D's own words:

"Prince was always from the future. He was a maestro, up there in the same conversation as Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. For Black folks, he signifies the past, present, and future. I recorded with him in 1999—which was mind-blowing again—but he really tripped me out when he had a garage sale on the lawn of Paisley Park. Someone would ask him about a guitar with a tag on it, and he’d say, ‘I’ll give you $60 off that one: What the fuck, man? A garage sale at Paisley Park and Prince is out there giving price breaks!’"

As we reflect on Prince's extraordinary life, we embrace a more personal vision; not just as an artist, but as a beacon of generosity, kindness and raw, unadulterated talent. Prince's impact remains deeply felt, not only in his revolutionary sound but in the way he selflessly shared his gifts with others. His legacy lives on in the countless artists, fans and people whose lives he touched.
