Summer of Love

Rare Editions

An opportunity to acquire a mint, unboxed copy of Summer of Love: George Martin's story of the nine months it took to create the Beatles' masterpiece, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Only 2 copies are available.
In Summer of Love, George Martin offers readers a detailed analysis of the writing and recording of each song on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album - as well as 'Strawberry Fields', 'Penny Lane' and 'All You Need Is Love'. The large-format, 176-page volume is exquisitely illustrated with over 130 hand-colourised images printed onto heavyweight art paper. One of the most visually stunning books Genesis has ever produced, Summer of Love is a beautifully bound document of an album regarded by many as the greatest in modern music.

'This is a personal view, based mostly on my personal memories... thanks to four fascinating, impossible, enormously talented, infuriating, adorable young men, who changed all our lives.' - George Martin

Published in a sell-out limited edition of only 2,000 copies worldwide, this is a chance to secure a copy from a truly historic edition, each individually signed by the Beatles' producer himself, Sir George Martin. Two copies are available to order, each including an original brochure from the year of publication, 2006.

Beatles In Germany

Rare Editions

A rare Preview Copy of Beatles in Germany, numbered in Roman numerals, that is additionally signed by Astrid Kirchherr.
Ahead of publication in 1997, Preview Copies were created of the new Beatles in Germany limited edition, numbered in Roman numerals and presented in a white slipcase. As with white label records, these rare books passed through the hands of the artists, their associates, and reviewers. Each is personally signed by guest editor Ulf Krüger, photographer Günter Zint, and Beatles collaborator Tony Sheridan, as standard. However, Preview Copies copies are also specially signed by Astrid Kirchherr, whose photographs and recollections are featured within the book.

'Astrid was the one who influenced our image more than anybody. Astrid made us look good.' - George Harrison

Beatles In Germany is a 138-page pictorial document of the bond that existed between The Beatles and their 'guardian' country: from their first trip to Hamburg in 1960, to a national tour in 1966. Introducing hundreds of rare and previously unpublished photographs, the book features a special chapter by Tony Sheridan, singer on the Beatles' first record, 'My Bonnie'. The set even includes a genuine Sixties Beatles keepsake: an original, vintage German gingerbread topper (size 146 x 142 mm), hand-pasted into each copy. Four pages of specially-made stamps of German Beatles memorabilia are also included.

Only 100 Preview Copies were ever created. Few remain. One is now being made available, shipped in its mailing carton with an original publication brochure.

From Station to Station

Rare Editions

The second of the three Genesis editions created with David Bowie, From Station To Station presents the previously unpublished stories and photographs of Bowie's childhood friend and backing vocalist, Geoff MacCormack. Introduced and signed by Bowie, 5 copies are available.
Telling the story of three years writing, recording, performing, living and traveling with David Bowie, From Station To Station offers a rare glimpse into life with one of music's greatest icons. Friends since childhood, MacCormack joined Bowie's band as a backing singer and percussionist in 1973. Presenting MacCormak's recollections and nearly 200 photographs for the first time - as well as tour programs, tickets, letters, and memorabilia from his personal archives - From Station To Station follows Bowie's travels all over the US, through Japan, across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express, through Paris and Rome.

'At the end of the tour David, surprisingly, announced his retirement. Nevertheless, I stayed with him for another two years, traveling and working on other tours - including Diamond Dogs and Young Americans - and six albums from Aladdin Sane to Station to Station. From Station to Station is the story of those three amazing years, together with my previously unpublished photographs of Bowie at work and at play.' - Geoff MacCormack

'What a terrifically clever idea this is. Take the two of us and pretend we went to America, Japan and, wait for it, f****** Russia of all places, me as a rock star and you as a cheerful backing singer and sidekick and then write a book about it. Brilliant! Will you actually be able to get this stuff published do you think?' - David Bowie

Rich in humour, anecdotes and misadventure, and filled with run-ins with stars - from Bruce Springsteen to John Lennon - From Station to Station documents historic moments, work on five tours and six albums, and concludes in 1976 with the filming of The Man Who Fell To Earth. The large-format book (320mm x 240mm) is bound by hand in leather and housed in a presentation case that folds completely flat, refolds, and magnetically fastens around the book. From a sell-out edition of 2,000 copies, these particular books are signed by both Geoff MacCormack and David Bowie, whose signature appears on a facsimile reproduction of an original 'While You Were Out' hotel memo, hand-pasted onto the inside front cover. 5 boxed copies are now available. An original brochure is included with each.

Hello, Goodbye

Rare Editions

Only 10 Deluxe Artist Proof copies were ever created of Shimpei Asai's Hello, Goodbye. Just 3 of these special copies are now being made available.
In 1966, The Beatles embarked on their last tour, playing concerts in 20 cities over the course of four months, beginning in London and ending in San Francisco. Millions of fans in England, Germany, Japan, the Philippines and America flocked to see the band. Hello, Goodbye: The Beatles in Tokyo, 1966 celebrates the Beatles' visit to Japan on this tour, as documented by renowned photographer Shimpei Asai, whose pictures are previously unpublished outside of Japan. His work intimately captures a fleeting moment with all its controversy, Beatlemania and creativity, painting a poignant image of the band during their short but intense visit.

'This is a side of The Beatles - relaxed, comfortable and intrigued by a world that, for them, was new and exotic - that we don't often see. And thanks to Asai, we are virtually in the suite with them.' - Allan Kozinn

'Never before published outside of Japan, Asai's images give a surprisingly intimate glimpse into the Beatles' behind-the-scenes world during their final year as a live band.' - Rolling Stone

The first 350 Deluxe copies in Asai's edition quickly sold out on publication in 2016. A further ten Deluxe Artist Proof copies were created for the author and publishers' use. Numbered in Roman numerals, these copies feature a Deluxe full leather binding, are presented in a cloth-bound solander case, and include a matching numbered and signed photographic print (8" x 10"). This is a chance to obtain one of these rare Deluxe copies, of which only three are being made available. An original brochure and fold-out poster (420mm x594mm / 16½" x 23½") will be included.

Budokan Arena

Rare Editions

One print is being offered from the first, sold-out edition of the Hello, Goodbye - Fine Art Print Series published with Shimpei Asai in 2016. The print is from the publisher's private archive and captures The Beatles on stage at Tokyo's Budokan Arena.
From Led Zeppelin to Queen, to Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan, Tokyo's celebrated Nippon Budokan will be forever associated with rock concerts, but the very first was given by The Beatles. The venue was considered a national shrine to Japan's war dead, and, in 1966, some viewed it as sacrilegious that a rock 'n' roll group should perform there. However, Japan's youth welcomed The Beatles with open arms, and the band played five shows for them over the course of three days, each time for a capacity crowd of 10,000 fans. They performed an 11-song set, the same used throughout their 1966 tour that included hits such as 'Day Tripper', 'Yesterday', 'Nowhere Man', and 'Paperback Writer.' They are seen here during their first show, on 30th June, in the bottle green suits they would go on to wear for their final concert at the tour's conclusion in San Francisco, at Candlestick Park.

'At the Budokan we were shown the old Samurai warriors' costumes, which we marvelled at dutifully in a touristy kind of way: "Very good! Very old!" ... We got into our natty bottle green suits. The thing about suits was that they always made us feel part of a team. When we arrived we were in our civvies, but once we put those on we were The Beatles! - the four-headed monster.' - Paul McCartney

'The four of them naturally showed their personalities like the different instruments they played.' - Shimpei Asai

The framed artwork is one of only 15 prints created (this edition being long since sold out) and will be dispatched with a signed certificate of authenticity. A Hello, Goodbye prospectus will be included, as well as a copy of the Hello, Goodbye - Fine Art Print Series catalogue in which this artwork was first featured.

Faces, 1969-75

Rare Editions

One of the final copies of FACES 1969-75, the band's official signed limited edition. Signed by the authors, Kenny Jones, the late Ian McLagan, and Ronnie Wood.
FACES, 1969-75 is the only book to be published by the band, featuring original text by Ronnie, Mac and Kenney along with over 200 photographs documenting the chaotic intensity of the Faces' career: the incendiary live shows, the on-stage laughs and off-stage high-lives, the private jets, groupies, drink, drugs, clothes, haircuts and Holiday Inns...

'We were the sponsors of Holiday Inn and Marriott, and anywhere we could get banned from. We used to call them the Holiday Out. We used to check in as Fleetwood Mac; no hotel chain would have the Faces because of the damage and madness that went on.' - Ronnie Wood

Ten years since the first copies of FACES, 1969-75 were produced, Genesis is releasing the final copies in this classic edition. Presented in a special red and gold binding, each numbered copy is signed by Kenney Jones, the late Ian McLagan, and Ronnie Wood. From a limited run of only 1,975 copies worldwide, just 300 now remain available.

VIP PRE-ORDER OFFER

As a subscriber to this year's Rare Editions event, we invite you to take advantage of this first opportunity to secure one of the final copies of FACES, 1969-75 ahead of a formal announcement to be made later this week, Thursday 30th September.
