Ronnie Wood

Update: Fewer than 80 copies remain

Offering unprecedented insight into the creative processes of a rock’n’roll legend, RONNIE WOOD: ARTIST charts six decades of Ronnie Wood’s art in every medium, from his first-ever commission at age ten to his latest Stones setlists.

Continuing the creative partnership which began in 1998 with Ronnie's sold-out volume, WOOD ON CANVAS, Genesis is delighted to publish this new guide to Ronnie’s art presented as a signed book and framed print set.

There are three editions from which to choose. Each includes a different colour leather-bound book accompanied by a framed, artist-signed print featuring a portrait of either: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, or Ronnie with Charlie Watts. Only 250 copies of each edition are being made available.

The Artwork

Ronnie Wood: Artist

Made with creative input and insights from Ronnie himself, and published in the year of his 70th birthday, RONNIE WOOD: ARTIST is filled with a generous selection of his Stones work.

Rare watercolours of Mick, Keith and Charlie backstage meet acrylics of contemporaries Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck and Keith Moon. Portraits of formative jazz innovators Count Basie, Miles Davis and Billie Holiday sit alongside blues heroes Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and Big Bill Broonzy. Paintings of Hollywood's elite - Paul Newman, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe - juxtapose real-time fashion sketches of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and deft pastel compositions from his residency at the Royal Ballet.

The work demonstrates Ronnie's artistic range, with media varying from pencil sketches to pen and ink, washes, chalk, pastels, oils, and even bronzes and stained glass. Specially commissioned photo shoots in Ronnie's four homes have captured his personal collections, from sketchbooks to private canvases.

'He followed no rules, just like me. Which is why we play guitar. He paints because he loves it, his joy shows in everything he does'. Keith Richards.

Throughout the book, Ronnie Wood provides captions to each of the artworks, telling the story behind the piece. Emmanuel Guigon, Director of the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, provides the book's introduction and an afterword is supplied by Keith Richards, who writes with affection and humour of Wood's artistic talent and unending creativity.

'From the moment I get up in the morning, I see everything as a painting.' Ronnie Wood
