There are three editions from which to choose. Each includes a different colour leather-bound book accompanied by a framed, artist-signed print featuring a portrait of either: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, or Ronnie with Charlie Watts. Only 250 copies of each edition are being made available.
Made with creative input and insights from Ronnie himself, and published in the year of his 70th birthday, RONNIE WOOD: ARTIST is filled with a generous selection of his Stones work.
Rare watercolours of Mick, Keith and Charlie backstage meet acrylics of contemporaries Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck and Keith Moon. Portraits of formative jazz innovators Count Basie, Miles Davis and Billie Holiday sit alongside blues heroes Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and Big Bill Broonzy. Paintings of Hollywood's elite - Paul Newman, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe - juxtapose real-time fashion sketches of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and deft pastel compositions from his residency at the Royal Ballet.'He followed no rules, just like me. Which is why we play guitar. He paints because he loves it, his joy shows in everything he does'. Keith Richards.
'From the moment I get up in the morning, I see everything as a painting.' Ronnie Wood
Ronnie Wood received formal art training at Ealing Art College before beginning his musical career, and throughout his time in the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces, and the Rolling Stones, he has constantly explored his passion for painting and drawing. He is well known for creating portraits of his bandmates, and rock'n'roll contemporaries, as well finding inspiration in landscapes, nudes, still lifes, and sculpture.
From his studio in Barcelona, Ronnie speaks about his lifelong love of music and art.
