Nova Plantarum Genera

Nova Plantarum Genera is a limited edition facsimile of only 25 copies of this important book first published in Florence in 1729.

A Preface is added by David Bellamy, Senior Lecturer in Botany at the University of Durham. Each copy is numbered and personally signed by David.

The foundations of the science of plants were laid down by lifetimes of patient observation and thought. The hard gleaned facts being laid before the scientific world in a number of books which must be regarded as the cornerstones of botany. The Nova Plantarum Genera is one important cornerstone.

It is the work of great devotion and undoubled excellence mentioning some 1900 species, 1400 of which were described for the first time (many of these being cryptograms). The latin text is supplemented by with 108 finely printed line engravings.
