A two-volume, signed limited edition book set, HAMBURG DAYS presents The Beatles as seen through the photographs of Astrid Kirchherr and the art of Klaus Voormann – with a Foreword by George Harrison. More than this, HAMBURG DAYS is Voormann and Kirchherr's memoir of the days they spent with The Beatles, 1960-63.
Few can say they were the first to hear The Beatles play live in the basement of the Kaiserkeller. In Hamburg's nightclubs small audiences rocked to The Beatles' raw sound long before it blazed a trail across the world. Now, with the publication of this limited edition, you can share in the history of those heady times.
The boxed set presents an unprecedented array of artwork and recollections: some 80,000 words and over 250 photographs, watercolours, drawings and paintings bring to life the years when Kirchherr, Voormann and the young Liverpool lads first met.
When not in the clubs, they would eat together in favourite haunts, engage in conversation, roam the streets through the early hours, and travel together, to the North Sea and later, Tenerife. In his Foreword George Harrison tells what made these formative years so special: a time Astrid photographed, producing an archive of unsurpassed images of The Beatles seen in its entirety; including previously unpublished photos and others rarely seen.

'I have decided it is time to create one book in which I am totally involved so that it contains the pictures I like most, printed the way I would print them, even down to the text and design, with of course the help of Genesis. This book is for people who are interested in photography in the Sixties and in the way I saw my friends and depicted them in the best way that I could. Therefore, this book is me and that is why it will be the last one. The very last one.' - Astrid Kirchherr
