DELUXE COPIES

THE LIFE AND TIMES OF ZIGGY STARDUST

THE SIGNED LIMITED EDITION BOOK BY DAVID BOWIE AND MICK ROCK

Deluxe binding

Published in November 2002 after three years in the making, Genesis Publications was very proud to present Moonage Daydream: The Life and Times of Ziggy Stardust. A collaboration between David Bowie and photographer Mick Rock, the book was published to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Ziggy Stardust LP's original release. Moonage Daydream is David Bowie's first ever book and the ultimate authorised piece of Ziggy Stardust legend.

"Daniella Parmar's dye-job convinced me of the importance of a synthetic hair colour for Ziggy. This turned into reality when I spied the Kansai Yamamoto model on a fashion magazine cover. It was a slightly 'girlie' magazine like Honey, definitely not Vogue.

In 1972, I duplicated not only the colour from this cover but the cut as well. A complete lift. I've read in different accounts that the Ziggy cut came from a number of different sources, or was designed by a local hairdresser in Bromley or Beckenham. Absolute tosh!"

David Bowie

Mick Rock was the only photographer authorised to record the whole of Ziggy's career from early 1972 to the end of 1973 and the book features a massive 659 of his photographs (including 314 in colour), many of them seen for the first time. Coupled with the extraordinary images is David Bowie's sharp, often humorous text which discusses the origins of his fascinating stage persona, comments on many of Mick's photographs, and overall gives unprecedented insight into Ziggy's stratospheric two-year career.

Copies numbered 1 to 350 of Moonage Daydream were Deluxe copies bound in full blue leather, blocked in gold with Ziggy's lightning bolt, and housed in a Solander box. Each Deluxe copy was also supplied with a Deluxe print of an image not featured in the book. This print, which was also signed by Mick Rock, was only available with the Deluxe copies of Moonage Daydream.

Moonage Daydream continues to receive rave reviews with Elle describing it as 'simply beautiful' and Mojo declaring, 'You're a fool to miss out'. There are still regular copies of Moonage Daydream available but they are selling fast. Order yours here.
