How Can It Be?

Fine Art Prints

Ronnie Wood

Ronnie Wood has created a series of new drawings inspired by the content of his recently discovered 1965 diary. Eight are available for collectors as individual museum quality artworks, each personally signed by Ronnie Wood.

Friends and musicians such as The Who are featured, while others bring to life memories of the road to superstardom.

'I just closed my eyes, opened them, and drew what was photographically in my mind after all those years. It all comes flying back.' – Ronnie Wood

The Artist

How Can It Be?

After the Birds Ronnie Wood went on to take America by storm with the Jeff Beck Group. He then played with the Faces before joining the Rolling Stones in 1975. Forty-five years later the Stones continue to make music history.

But while his career in music needs no introduction, Ronnie Wood's talent as an artist is also widely recognised. His drawings and painting have been exhibited across the globe and included amoung his many fans are President Bill Clinton, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jack Nicholson and Sir Peter Blake.

'Ronnie is in the top flight as a musician,' comments art critic Edward Lucie-Smith, 'but he's also a fully trained artist... his striking study of Eric Clapton is worthy of the National Portrait Gallery.'

'If I chose music, I'd always be drawing, and if I chose painting, I'd always be playing.' - Ronnie Wood

How Can It Be?

'The gig wagon covered many miles. It was always filled with amplifiers, guitars and the drum kit. We'd be spread over the back with our pillows, wedging in wherever we could. We'd be full of aches and pains by the time we got to the gig.' - Ronnie Wood

How Can It Be?

'The Artwoods' and the Birds' vans would be outside No. 8 Whitethorn before we went off to our separate gigs. It was quite a regular occurrence, especially on a weekend. The neighbours would all come out and watch with interest.' - Ronnie Wood

'A lot of the time, we'd have the vocals and guitars coming out of one or two amps. Often the bass was the only one that had its own cabinet. It got hairy with the balance and the acoustics.' - Ronnie Wood
