Ronnie Wood Raises Money for Addiction Charity with the Sale of a New Limited Edition Print
26 Apr 2021
Ronnie Wood has announced the release of Affirmation I
, a signed limited edition print which will raise money for the addiction charity, Turn Up For Recovery. The inspiration behind the print, which reads, 'When I take care of myself I can achieve anything', came from Ronnie's time in rehab and he says it was these words that set the road map for his recovery.
'Affirmations have become a really valuable part of my recovery and have always really inspired me along the way.' - Ronnie Wood
The painting's positive message, set on a background of vivid colours, is reflective of the charity's aims of tackling the negativity and stigma surrounding addiction. Founded by Melia Clapton, the charity was born out of Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival - the story of which is captured in Sunshine of Your Love
. Turn Up For Recovery raises funds through gigs to help promote abstinence-based recovery and raise money for the Crossroads Antigua Centre.
'I'm so moved by Ronnie's kindness in bringing awareness to our cause and raising funds to help provide treatment for those in need. A massive thank you Ronnie for sharing these prints with Turn Up For Recovery and [the Crossroads Centre], I'm grateful to you for creating a powerful message with your gift of painting, they will be part of a positive change in many people's lives. It's inspiring to find someone that struggled with addiction who is willing to spread hope to others still suffering...a true blessing.' - Melia Clapton
