Rage Against the Machine Announced as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2021 Nominees

13 Feb 2021

Rage Against the Machine are among the list of 2021 nominees for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Described as 'Rock's highest honor', each year the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recognises those who have made a substantial contribution to music. If Rage Against the Machine are inducted, they will join other Genesis authors including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Chrissie Hynde, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Page and more.

Co-founder and guitarist of Rage Against the Machine, Tom Morello, has previously inducted the Clash and Kiss into the Hall of Fame, with his induction speech for KISS going down as one of the best in the Hall's history.

'While there is often a debate about who should and shouldn't be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I think the criteria are actually quite simple: impact, influence, and awesomeness.' - Tom Morello

Influenced and inspired by the Clash and Kiss, excerpts of Morello's induction speeches are included in his new photo memoir, Whatever It Takes.

We certainly think the band meets Morello's criteria. Fans can vote via the website until 5th April to help their favourite nominees secure a place in the top five.
