Bob Dylan has released a new, interactive video for his 48-year old song, ‘Like a Rolling Stone’, in which the viewer can flick between 16 different videos to mimic changing channels on the TV. Each channel plays a different genre of show – including reality TV, shopping channels, news and music – in which everyone is actually lip-synching Dylan’s song. No two people’s edit will be the same, and you can try this unique experience for yourself by clicking here.
‘The effect can only be surrealistic if the channels are realistic. In reality, channel-flipping is a very passive act. You're sitting back in your house, doing nothing. We wanted to make it an active thing, reediting the song itself to make a new version.’ – Vania Heymann, the video’s director.
‘Like a Rolling Stone’ was released in 1965, an era captured by the late Barry Feinstein in REAL MOMENTS. To find out more about Feinstein’s signed limited edition book, click here.
