On behalf of all at Genesis we would like to wish you a very
happy New Year and thank you for a great 2012.
2012 was the 40th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust, and marked ten years of collaboration between David
Bowie and Genesis. We celebrated by releasing the now sold-out SPEED OF LIFE and the CHANGES collection, with
launches in London, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Ziggy was also recognised
with a re-release of the 1972 album and a commemorative plaque.
The release of MR FANTASY celebrated the life of Traffic's Jim Capaldi, bringing the late
drummer's friends and family together, both in the book's pages and at its
launch in June. Our friends Jon Lord and Ravi Shankar passed away this year,
but, like Jim, will live on through their words and music. We are honoured to
have worked with these music legends to help preserve their legacy.
The Faces rocked their way into the Hall of Fame and
launched FACES 1969-75 in the USA in
April. A huge year for Ronnie Wood - The Rolling Stones celebrated their 50th
anniversary with a greatly acclaimed series of concerts, a film and Ronnie
Wood's DECADES collection.
The Beach Boys also embarked on a 50-year reunion tour,
while Led Zeppelin released footage from their last live performance. Yoko
Ono's show 'To The Light' exhibited at London's Serpentine gallery and rare
material from the Beatles, the Doors and Bowie surfaced from under beds.
The UK revelled in its musical heritage during the summer
Olympic ceremonies, with performances from The Who, Nick Mason and Paul
McCartney, amongst others. Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins met his hero,
Faces' Kenney Jones, and Bob Dylan received his own Medal of Freedom - the
highest honour for US civilians.
Eric Clapton's SIX-STRING STORIES went to press in November, with the deluxe copies
selling out in record speed. We look forward to the book's official launch this
year. We are also excited about our upcoming publications: Lou Reed and Mick
Rock's TRANSFORMER, and Yoko
Ono's INFINITE UNIVERSE AT DAWN.
These books are the fruition of a number of years spent working with the
authors to create original signed limited editions. You can click here to

be announcing in 2013...
