This Sunday, 24th March, Pink Floyd are
celebrating 40 years since the release of The Dark Side of the Moon. Floyd fans can unite as the album is broadcast
globally for 24 hours, starting at 00.01 GMT. Storm Thorgerson, who created the
album cover in 1973, has designed a series of 14 new takes on the iconic
artwork, which can be seen on Pink Floyd's official website by clicking here.
Thorgerson's limited edition, TAKEN BY STORM, tells the stories behind his designs, including the The Dark Side of the Moon 30th edition.
'The stained glass window was made in the same proportions as the original design, but substituting a deep purple hue for the black background, since black glass does not admit any light and might defeat the whole purpose. The stained glass window was photographed outside against a winter sun (actually in the back garden of a house belonging to one of Pink Floyd) highlighting the texture and imperfections of the glass itself. All very radiant we thought, especially in the flesh.' - Storm Thorgerson in TAKEN BY STORM
The box set also features original artwork and exclusive objects created by the artist. You can find out more by clicking here.
Since 1974 Genesis has created signed limited edition books on behalf of authors and artists ranging from the Beatles to Buckingham Palace.
