Today is the 35th anniversary of Elvis Presley's
death. Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley surprised fans last night, appearing at
the candlelit vigil held in Memphis as part of 'Elvis Week'. Tonight's 35thAnniversary Concert will feature film of Elvis' legendary concert performances, accompanied live by
singers and musicians who worked with him.
ELVIS & THE BIRTH OF ROCK, chronicling the years
1956-58, captures Elvis at the beginning of his career. Author Lew Allen
was the only professional photographer at the Cleveland Arena in November 1956,
as Elvis Presley took the stage just a month after his legendary appearance on The
Ed Sullivan Show. Edited by Mike McCartney,
Allen's photographs are published here for the very first time, alongside text
from both authors revealing what it was like to be in the presence of the King.
'Looking back, I realised that I had witnessed and captured
the birth of rock 'n' roll.' - Lew Allen
Fully bound in blue suede, with silver blocking and 3 signed

perfect way to celebrate the musician's life. Click here to order your copy
