Bob Dylan: Medals of Freedom

Bob Dylan: Medals of Freedom

Bob Dylan is to receive the Medal of Freedom, the highest honour that can be awarded to American civilians. President Obama will present Dylan with the award along with fellow recipients including civil rights workers, political figures, war heroes, scientists, and Nobel Prize winners.

'They've challenged us, they've inspired us and they've made the world a better place.' - President Barack Obama

Dylan is being honoured for his 'rich and poetic lyrics', which influenced and documented the 1960s American Civil Rights movement. The prize also recognizes the cultural impact he has had over the last 50 years; Dylan, who turned 71 on Saturday 24th May, continues to record and tour and is celebrated in no fewer than four Genesis limited editions available in our current catalogue.
