New On Site: Voyages Of Discovery

25 Mar 2003

Genesis Publications has long been associated with limited editions on rock and roll. However, the company, founded in 1974, originally published leather-bound historical volumes with forewords written by the late Lord Mountbatten, Prince Charles and The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. These volumes included illustrated facsimiles of ships' logs and journals relating to daring voyages of discovery such as 'The Journal of a Voyage in HMS Beagle' by Charles Darwin and 'James Cook's Journal of HMS Resolution'. Indeed, it was these volumes which impressed George Harrison enough to encourage him to create 'I Me Mine' for publication by Genesis. We have now added pages on our website dedicated to these historical editions, which incidentally make wonderful gifts.

A new index has been added to our Books section which clearly lists all these 'Voyages of Discovery' editions. Also in the index are two further old editions, facsimiles of the original manuscripts for Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures Underground' and Charles Dickens's 'The Cricket on the Hearth'. A few copies of all these beautiful fine bindings are still available and order forms are linked to every book's page. We hope you enjoy browsing all these titles.
