Pete Townshend On The Who Live
23 Mar 2001
Pete Townshend referred to the Genesis book/CD set THE WHO LIVE
between songs on stage at Birmingham NEC on 8 November 2000: "I was just looking at this guy Ross Halfin that's pissing around down the front taking pictures. He just put a really great book of live Who pictures together... In the book you get a sense of the fact that in the great days of the Sixties and Seventies what used to happen was that we were discovering what used to happen at rock concerts, and it was a little bit more than we expected. Don't know whether it happens today. We like to think it does, especially at our shows. You get a bargain. Nothing to do with us. The bargain is what you bring and the bargain is ours..." - before launching straight into - what else? - the song 'Bargain'. With only about 30 copies remaining, this is pretty much your last chance to get hold of one before this limited edition is totally sold out.
