Jimmy Page: Celebrating 80 Years Today

09 Jan 2024

Jimmy Page turns 80 today. His extraordinary musical career spans over 60 years throughout which he has excelled at every stage: from the first discovery of a guitar within his childhood home to being universally acclaimed as one of the greatest guitarists that has ever lived.
Page's spectacular career in music - from his early days as a session musician to bandleader and producer with groups including the Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Firm, Coverdale and Page, and Page and Plant - is documented in his Genesis edition, Jimmy Page: Anthology.
'When we moved there was a guitar left behind by the previous owner. This guitar sat unplayed in the house for a couple of years but my parents hadn't thrown it out. A schoolfriend eventually showed me a few chords and then I played it. On reflection, it was like the guitar had made an intervention in my life.' - Jimmy Page
