Bowie Fans Thrilled at Woody Woodmansey Talk in London

20 Jun 2024

Last night, Bowie fans gathered at the newly-opened KEF Music Gallery in London to hear Woody Woodmansey, drummer of The Spiders from Mars, in conversation with Evening Standard Editor Dylan Jones. Woodmansey shared stories about his time with David Bowie, including their first meeting, Bowie's influence on their style, and the spontaneous creation of "Starman" for the Ziggy Stardust album.

The event featured anecdotes expected to be released as a podcast soon. Genesis subscribers attending the event were among the first in the world to hear the new Dolby Atmos mix of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, due to be released later in 2024.

Attendees were also invited to explore the gallery's immersive exhibition, showcasing over 25 Mick Rock Archive prints, the new Rock and Roll Star Boxset recordings, and original 1972 tour footage. Thank you to all who attended. If you haven't visited the KEF Music Gallery yet, it's a must-see.
