A Night with Janis Joplin Comes to the West End
19 Jan 2024
In exciting music news this week, the Tony Award-nominated A Night with Janis Joplin is set for a UK premiere this summer. The Broadway hit initially opened at the Lyceum Theatre in 2013 and closed after 141 performances.
Beginning its run on the 20th of August, Mary Bridget Davies, who originally starred as Joplin, will be returning and reprising the role in the West End. Featuring songs such as 'Piece of My Heart,' 'Cry Baby,' and 'Me and Bobby McGee,' the show celebrates the singer and her most significant musical influences, including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone, and Bessie Smith.
In her handmade scrapbook, Janis Joplin created a personal record of her meteoric rise to fame and the flowering of the Sixties counterculture in which she was to play a lead role. Learn more about this limited edition and secure your copy today at
