This month marks the 35th anniversary of Traveling Wilburys Vol.1, the debut album of the supergroup comprised of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty.
In Jeff Lynne's own words,
'The Traveling Wilburys started life in Bob Dylan's garage... That's where we made the recording of 'Handle With Care'. It was a great session, George having brought the unfinished song in for us all to learn and complete. There we were: George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and me. Wow!'
Later, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics offered the band his Los Angeles home to finish the album together - writing, playing, singing and recording nine songs in nine days. After recording the album's tracks in Los Angeles, the Wilburys hopped across the pond to finish production at Harrison's home studio in Friar Park, England. Adding piano, guitar solos and harmonies, it didn't take too long for the band to be happy with the final product.

Upon release, Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 sold over 5 million copies worldwide and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and was certified triple platinum.
