
During the Sixties, as a photographer for elite publications such as Vogue and Life, Jerry Schatzberg (shown above) was a central figure in New York's vibrant art scene.
Jerry Schatzberg: 'I got a call from Sara (Lowndes). She said: "Bobby hears you want to photograph him." I said, "I would love to." She said he was recording an album and gave me the address. When I showed up they were in the middle of recording Highway 61 Revisited... That's how I began.'
Schatzberg and Dylan became friends and over the course ofthe next year he photographed Dylan in the recording studio,photographic studio, on stage, being interviewed by journalists andsocialising with friends.
