We know we will not be alone in being deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Brian's passing. The incredible back catalogue of Genesis titles is just a small testament to his creativity, passion and energy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Patricia, Cathy, Nick and all the extended Genesis family.

Love Brad, Marian and Ben

Here in New York we were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Brian's passing. His genius, his spirit and endless taste will continue as his legacy in the beautiful volumes he created - his boundless energy will do likewise to all he encountered.

To the entire Roylance and Genesis family, we send blessings for his safe journey.

Barbara Castrataro, Esq. and the entire staff at our law firm.

May Genesis triumph over tragedy.

Brian, Dear Gentle Man, what a terrible void is left by your departure. Shall we fill that void with our tears? Certainly, we will make a sincere attempt to do so. The grief of your kinfolk is joined by that of your friends, collaborators, co-workers and customers. All who ever met you were touched by your inherent kindness and impressed by your dedication to your craft - your art - of producing the best books in the world. We will handle those books with an extra measure of respect from now on.

Far too soon must we say good night, kind Sir. Far, far too soon. We hold your memory close to our hearts. Peace and comfort to your Family from ours.

Love from Dennis Blair & the Girls

I have been a Genesis Pub collector for 15 years or so. The books are treasures and a source of great pleasure for me. Brian will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on--what a wonderful gift to the world.

Barry K. Herman, M.D. (RockDoc)

My most sincere condolences to the Roylance family and those at Genesis. I will remember Brian every time I look at any of the Genesis publications in my library. If the energy and passion he put into his work is any reflection of the spirit with which he lived, then those who know him are surely blessed to have had him in their lives.

Luke Dalla Bona

Thank you Brian for giving me, and all us crazy Beatles fans, access to exceptional manuscripts and autographs of our idols. I trust you have trained your son well to continue your gift. I wish I had thanked you sooner.

Jane R Burt in Charlotte, NC, USA

I was very sad to hear ... That Brian had passed away ... I for one am very thankful for his vision and his work with Genesis.

My Thought and prayers ... To Brian's Family and His Team at Genesis.

Edward Ajaj

I was so shocked to learn of Brian's passing from an article in The New York Times. I wish to convey my sympathy to Brian's family and to all of the good people at Genesis Publications.

Mitch Vinicor

Brian was a friend of my parents and I remember going round to the Roylance house for dinner in my childhood. I am very sorry to hear that he has died.

Love & best wishes to Cathy & Nick and the rest of Brian's family and friends.

Beck Kingsnorth

I can't believe it, although I only met him once it's like losing a friend. Sadly missed.

Johannes Heesen

Sending our condolences to Genesis staff and family. We were so impressed by Brian's gentle nature, warmth and civility. His tremendous creativity and mastery of the publishing world will be surely missed. We were fortunate to have worked with him on the Elvis book project.

Lew Allen & Bob Shatten

I met Brian for the first time at the launch of The Lions in London September 15th, he signed my book, we spoke for only a short time, he had this desire in his eyes a kind of sparkle, that told me there and then, why Genesis is such a successful company, such talents do not deserve to part from us so suddenly, I can picture him with his God, complaining that " I was not finished".

Ar Dheis go Raibh A-Hanam. (God Bless His Soul)

Michael O Brien

Brian was an inspiration to me. His work influenced mine and assured me that to do the outrageous was not only alright but the only way to go. My limited editions for Charnel House Publications would not have been what they became without him. I will miss him but take succor that he is back together with his friend George.

Joe Stefko, Publisher~Charnel House

I am extremely sad to hear of Mr. Roylance's passing. His life will certainly not be forgotten due to all of his exquisite books that remains here with each of us to enjoy with a smile.

My prayers are with him and his family.

With much admiration, Nick V Bozanich

So hard to believe. I spent some time last week ordering additions to my collection of Genesis Books. Although I never met Brian or spoke to him, the friendly and efficient service I have always experienced from the Genesis staff that I have spoken to speaks volumes about the caring way he ran this unique business. Love, Peace and Sympathy to his family and friends. His legacy is ensured.

Brendan Talbott (Just a music fan)

I am a late-comer to Genesis Publications but even from this remove it's possible to sense something very wonderful and special. You only have to deal with Tessa to feel the warmth of what is a very special business indeed. Brian, thank you for all you have given those who are fortunate enough to own one of your books.

To all at Genesis - what a most terrible shock and loss but to his family most of all, my heartfelt sympathies. I am truly sorry for all concerned and the world just turned a little colder for this loss. I'll say a prayer for all. Take care all at this terrible time.

All the best from Paul English in Dublin.

To Mr. Roylance's extended family: Please know that I share your shock and grief. I am happy, though, that I got to meet the wonderful, sensitive, artistic Brian Roylance earlier this year at a book signing here in New York City and although I am trying to summon that joyful memory, I am deeply saddened. Please accept my heartfelt prayers and sympathy.

Bruce Bosso

You managed to bring so much beauty and happiness to the lives of so many book lovers. We thank you so much.

Patrick

Words cannot express the sadness we feel at hearing about the passing of Mr. Roylance. I am praying for his family and for the "Genesis Family" and I know that the Lord will wrap comforting arms around you all. We will never be able to thank Brian enough for the treasured books he gifted us with through his work. May God bless and keep you all at this difficult time.

Kris Tash, Dayton, NJ USA

I am deeply saddened by the lost of Mr. Roylance.

This past spring, after 25 years, I finally had the pleasure of meeting the man who produced the beautiful books I had purchased, and found him to be very gracious.

As one who works in book production, I am glad that I had the opportunity to tell him how much I appreciated the craftsmanship of each book.

My sincere condolences to Mr. Roylance's family, friends and colleagues.

I just heard about Brian's passing. Please give my condolences to his family...and, of course, to all the staff.

Very very sad.

Warm regards,

The news of Brian's passing has frozen my day. I am so sorry to hear that all of you have lost your father, your friend, your guide. Brian was such a kind and warm person. I always appreciated his support over the years and know that life was more than just business to him - it was evident that his values went well beyond that. I know there are many people who are better for having known him. He was sensitive to others even under pressure and elegant in his communications.

In over 20 years of business Brian was one of the few people I honestly and unreservedly say I was glad to have known. He was a fine person, a great guy. I will truly miss him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Theron Kabrich (San Francisco Art Exchange)

I was saddened to hear of Brian's Passing. I wish to pass on my sympathy to Brian's family and all his colleagues at Genesis.

When it comes to fine publications,Brian Roylance and the Genesis team have created an unsurpassable benchmark and consequently made this field their own. His creative talent and input will no doubt be sadly missed, but his influence and memory will ensure that his quality and creativity continue.

Long may the Roylance/Genesis legacy continue.....

With love and deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Fraser Ludlam (subscriber).

A visionary, a humanitarian, and a true gentleman. His life will continue on in his work.

We are shocked and saddened here in Dallas to hear the news of Brian's passing over. What beautiful, artistic expressions he created with his published works that will endure through the ages. Thank you, dear Brian!

Charles Heard & Sherry Childress

Very sad news and my thoughts go out to the Roylance family and all at Genesis.

May George and Brian be reunited in the spiritual world.

I bought my first book from Brian at Genesis twenty years ago and have been constantly amazed and knocked out by the quality, beauty and workmanship that each volume possessed. Over the years I have worked for him, in connection with one or two of the books he produced, and always found him to be a lovely, gentle man, who was totally genuine and someone you knew you could trust completely.

Without Brian's vision that he must have had when he formed Genesis, we wouldn't be left with the incredible legacy that he has left us, and hopefully will carry on to produce even more superb editions that will live up to his name and memory. My wife and I send our sincere condolences to Cathy and Nick, and to everyone at Genesis.

Paul Higgens

It was needless to say, very shocking to find Brian's "In Memoriam" as I entered the website this morning. My wife Millie and I share everyones loss. Brian left behind a very huge worldwide family. I'm glad that my wife and I are a part of it.

Bill Nellis - 'Subscriber'

What an enormous shock to hear such awful news. I have been collecting Genesis books for years and each one shows the care and love that only a man of beauty could produce. I wish i had the chance to have met him, but my prayers to all his family and those at Genesis are with you. Warmest wishes and love during such an awful time.

Walter Ocner (New York City)

I had the pleasure of a couple of limited dealings with Brian earlier this year, and found him to be an enthusiastic and honest man, his enjoyment in the creation of the beautiful books and collections on offer through his company, very evident.

It was a terrible shock to hear the very sad news.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues at Genesis Publications...

Matt Johns, Brain Damage website

How very sad to learn of Brian's passing and my deepest condolences go to his family, close friends and colleagues. Brian left behind a wonderful catalogue which will be treasured for generations to come. God Bless you Brian.

Chris Sanders

I am truly saddened by the news of Brian's passing. My times spent with Brian and with the Genesis staff were times of great fun, friendship, and just plain good times. I've had the fortune to have served as a "temp" Genesis employee at many Liverpool Beatles Festivals and have been a guest at several of Brian's other Genesis events. Each time I experienced the warmth of Brian's personality as he made it a point to search me out and greet me personally.

To Brian, you sir will be sorely missed. Please rest assured that you have left a good, respectable mark on this Earth. To his family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Please be at peace as Brian now lives with God. To his Genesis staff, I am so sorry for your loss as well and I hope to see you all again sometime soon. May the peace of God which passes all understanding be with you always.

Tom Griffith

I was very sad to read about Brian's death. I have enjoyed and hopefully will continue to enjoy the unique quality and subjects of Genesis Publications. Like most, I was shocked to hear of Brian's death. Brian brought tremendous pleasure to many with the sheer beauty of the work he and the team at Genesis, produced. From my first book "Fifty Years" to my latest "Postcards" I have been genuinely thrilled with the quality of the books.

Meeting Brian in Sydney at the launch of Playback was a great thrill. He seemed a delightful man. My thoughts are with Brian's family, friends and the team at Genesis.

Sincerely, Robert Perry

I was very fortunate to have met Brian this past April in New York City. We chatted a bit, and it struck me immediately how kind and warm-hearted he was, and how enthusiastic he was for his craft. We have all lost so very much. Surely each and every exquisite Genesis edition contains Brian's spirit and touch, and will shine on forever. My deepest condolences to Brian's family, colleagues, and loved ones.

I never met Brian, but as a fellow publisher, music fan, and Genesis subscriber, was always inspired by his talented, creative vision and spirit. I am very sad at this news, and my thoughts go out to his family at this tragic time.

Graham Crossley, a subscriber, London

I worked with Brian in the early 1970s when he was production manager at IPC Science & Technology Press, and just embarking on his Genesis journey. A brilliant boss, and a great friend. We lost touch for many years, before meeting up again in 2002. His passing leaves me very sad, and my thoughts are with his family, and those with whom he worked.

Geoff Mullett

I am truly saddened to learn of the all too soon passing of Brian.

I was lucky to have talked to him at length at the Lions Book launch and he was charming and so passionate about the Genesis books, company and staff. He had so many great ideas for future volumes that I hope will be realised and end up on my groaning bookshelves. His enthusiasm and passion will live on.

A friend once sang that "All Things Must Pass" but why so early for them both? It does not seem fair.

With my love and best wishes for the Roylance family and for his Genesis family at this sad time.

Mark Wilesmith

Wishing you (Brian's family) strength in this time of sorrow.

Laura Reeder

This was terrible news and I was very sad. I first started buying Genesis books on a regular basis about 5 years ago. After collecting rock and roll memorabilia for 30 years now, I can say that my Genesis collection is probably my most precious collection and I have Brian to thank for his vision in doing this and he always thanked me for my support. Long live Genesis and the good they do.

Joey Hornick

I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies. Brian began something that has brought me a great deal of pleasure. I've always felt there must be something special at Genesis, because I can feel it here in the States whenever I open your books. May your bonds never be broken even if you may part.

Allan McGuffey

My deepest condolences go out to the Roylance family, as well as to his friends and colleagues. I had the pleasure of meeting him several times in passing at Genesis events and he and his staff were always so pleasant and accomodating. Brian's work and the legacy he left behind will speak towards the person he was - someone interested in high quality art, music and books, with a keen eye towards attention to detail and friendship above all else. He will be missed.

Cindy in NYC

I would like to pass on my condolences to the Roylance family. I never had the opportunity to meet the man in person, but we have corresponded in letters for nearly two decades. Every book I have ever ordered and purchased from Genesis has obvious signs of painstaking labours of love, a true reflection of his commitment to excellence. My bookshelves easily reflect this, and his memory will live on through all of his excellent work.

Rick Kucemba, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

My deep condolences to Brian's family and to all the staff at Genesis.

His remarkable work as the man behind Genesis Publications will last forever.

Ivan A. Brantes

My deepest sympathy to the Roylance family. May the treasures from Genesis Publications forever ring true to his name and memory.

Thank you, Brian - For sharing your vision.

Bill Cermak

it is always sad to lose people who contribute so much to the lives of others. mr roylance has set the book bar pretty high. now it is up to all of us left behind to accept nothing less than the best. as a relatively new collector of genesis books, i know that my expectations are now measured by great genesis publications. all others publishers should be asking themselves, before their books are bound, 'would Brian be proud of this?' my sincere condolences to the family.

Chardon Labrie

I was absolutely shocked when I looked on your website and saw the news. Although I have never met Brian I could see he was a man of vision and impeccable taste. All of the Genesis books I own are the highlight of my Beatles collection. He took rock and roll publishing and elevated it to an exquisite art form. While it is a terrible loss his legacy will live on in the beautiful volumes his company produced. What a wonderful way to be remembered.

Steve Baron (customer)

As one of your regular subscribers, may I pass on my heartfelt condolences to all of Brian's family & to everyone at Genesis. Brian enriched my life with his vision and fastidious attention to detail. His personally signed letters always made me feel part of the Genesis family. May he rest in peace.

Peter Walker, Quinton, Birmingham.

Although I never met the man in person I'm sure he managed to create something very unique from a family perspective. Any question you put towards the people behind Genesis publications is answered in an almost amicable kind of way, like you feel part of the company yourself. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and everyone who knew Brian. The only hope I have is for Genesis to continue as this will be the best way to thank and remember Brian.

John 'Bo Bo' Bollenberg

A real gentleman, I met him once, shortly, and was struck by his genuine interest in my comments on the wonderful work he did with Genesis Publications. He will be sadly missed.

Dear Roylance and Genesis Family,

My deepest and sincerest condolances to you all. I do hope you find the strength and energy to continue the beautiful work this very special man started so many years ago. I'll treasure his personal remarks on the letters that were sent out to me during all those years. Thanks a lot Brian!

It's a crual shock, and I am very, very saddened. I felt Brian very close to me; everyone talks about the Genesis family, I feel exactly the same and feel privileged to have met and known him. I will remember his kindness, smile and elegance. I'll miss him terribly. My thoughts are with him, his family and all at Genesis.

Roland Lestoquoit, from France

Very sorry to hear about Brian's death. (Brian commissioned the publication of 'Summer of Love', a book I wrote with George Martin.) Please accept my condolences.

Will Pearson

It was a joy to meet Brian a couple of years ago at Genesis on assignment for Italian mag Io Donna. I'd been collecting Genesis books for quite a while and I was glad to find out the man was as I expected, soft-spoken and committed to his vision and passion as was his gang.

Brian accomplished the visual and sentimental dreams of any rock fan. Most of all he established an unsurpassed personal and creative relationship with rock's greatest artists and photographers. He deserves eternal gratitude and respect for providing endless inspiration with his wonderful books.

My thoughts and prayers go to Nick, his family and everybody at Genesis. Keep up the good work.

Love, Guido Harari (photographer)

I'm shocked and saddened to just read the news. I had the privilege of meeting Brian (with Olivia Harrison) at the launch of 'Concert For George' and he was the most charming gentleman, who exuded passion for his work. Having been a collector since 'Fifty Years Adrift', I know his artistic vision will live on through Genesis.

My thoughts and prayers go to the Roylance and Genesis families.

David Stratton, Sydney

Brian was always so good to deal with.

Although I only had a few dealings with Brian mostly by letter, he came across as a really sincere man.

Condolences to his family and all at Genesis.

Steve Gloag

If we are in part the sum of our works and our friends, then Mr. Roylance has few equals, and perhaps none in the business of fine books.

Tom Hayes

Thank you, Brian

Mo Cohen

I spotted my very first Genesis book in a music shop in Denmark Street, London, during a vacation. I couldn't help but buy it even though it was well beyond my budget. I always thought of books as precious media to be enjoyed, loved and cherish and I was so glad someone had thought about making the kind of books I only dreamed of.

In an era where most of written text is displayed on cold computer monitors Mr. Roylance works gave books a meaning most of us had forgotten, almost a mediaeval one, when books were more than simple sheets of paper filled with ink. They are not just information gatherers, but precious friends that give lots of joy to those that can spend time looking through them.

Thank you Sir for devoting your life to such a lovable craft.

Andrea Carraro, Genova - Italy

Very sad to hear that Brian has passed away. His books ensure that he has left a wonderful mark in the world - they will be treasured by all of us who own them, and he will be remembered whenever I open one of his books. All my very best wishes to Brian, his family and everbody at Genesis. God Bless.

Steve Porter

Gosh, what a terrible shock to learn of Brian's death. My condolences to all at Genesis, especially to Nick, who has lost a dear father. I last chatted with Brian at Mick Rock's exhibition in London, where, through Brian, I had met Astrid Kirchherr. It never ceased to amaze me what this calm, unassuming man had achieved. I shall treasure my Genesis books even more now. Valete Brian, what a glorious legacy you have left us.

Norman Revill

Thank you very very much Brian for the joy your work brought me. My condolences to the Genesis family.

I just read of Mr. Roylance's passing in "Rolling Stone" and felt a need to offer condolences to his family and to the staff at Genesis. I have been a steady customer since the publication of "Fifty Years Adrift." What wonderful work to which Mr. Roylance dedicated his career. And what a major loss to be felt.

Very saddened and shocked to learn of Brian's passing.Whilst I did not know Brian you always felt that the relationship between customer and Genesis was more personal as he signed many of the letters for future publications himself and that reinforced to me the attention to detail he gave to the books.

graeme clark aberdeen

Only just heard of the passing of Brian, condolence to the family. Never met the man, but the passion he had for his trade WILL be an eternal imprint for the book publishers of the world

Alan, from Australia

May I pay my respects to Brian's family and say how very sorry I am to hear of his passing.

Thanks to Brian, I have been in contact with Genesis since George Harrison's I Me Mine was published in 1980. I was one of the first in New Zealand to receive this landmark publication. I personally met Brian when he accompanied George and Derek Taylor to a luncheon in Auckland to launch Derek's book 50 Years Adrift.

I wrote personally to Brian upon George's death and he wrote back remembering our time together at the luncheon. It was a special time for me to be in the company of such wonderful human beings.

Brian began an organisation that allowed true followers of respected artists the chance to obtain their art be it music, football, horse racing or rugby. I thank Brian for his inventiveness and imagination to create rare works of art that come through from the initial idea, the artist concerned and the craftsmen who produce the wonderful books.

His memory will be treasured by many many people.

God bless you Brian and your family.

Stephen Scott

Brian really was a true gentleman, such a tragic loss to us all.All the very best to Genesis for the future.

Mark Wilson

It was my pleasure and privilege to have worked with Brian since our days together at IPC in Guildford. In particular, of course, was the opportunity Brian gave me to help with the editing and administration of 'I, Me, Mine', a tide in our affairs which was taken at the flood and led Brian, and Genesis Publications, onto great good fortune. It also, through working with George Harrison, introduced us both to life's deeper mysteries and was, I know, as life-changing for Brian as it was for me. The publishing world has lost one of its true professionals: a gentleman through and through. God bless and rest in peace, my friend.

TIm Feest

My thoughts go out to Patricia and all the family. May the light keep shining on you.

Simon Liebesny

there is nothing as rare as the person who has the fondness, judgement, appreciation, sensitivity, & gentleness to handle the care it takes to create everlasting books with an artful sense. i never met mr. roylance, but if he cared for people as he cared for the books i have, he must have created an artful life for all with whom he came in touch.

i am most sorry for your loss.

life is a gift and it comes in a box marked time. with every day, the gift unwraps to show us its everlasting portions. and when the last box is opened, we who remain carry what has been given us from those who came before.

bless mr. roylance and may god comfort his family and friends.

Barbara Wright, Bowie, MD USA

I've been an Genesis customer since the late 70s. I've heard from Brian personally before as he'd send a note to ask how I liked a particular book. He really cared for the opinions of the people who bought Genesis books.

I'm saddened by his passing - but I still expect wonderful things from Genesis as long as everyone remembers Brian's compassion and professionalism.

Nancy Pedersen

With deepest sympathies to all the Roylance family and extended Genesis friends. Nick & Catherine be proud and please continue to carry the your father's torch forward.

Gordon MacDougall

Dearest Catherine and Nick,

Your father and I ventured down a long road together in the preparations of the book of my father's work in "Blinds and Shutters"

I always like to think that the book stood for two things: a starting point for me with this magnificent collection and very much a turning point for your father Brian in the direction Genesis was to take in the future.

I was proud to have known and worked with him, a true artist who at that time was really the only publisher that was prepared to go down that long road with me and completely understand and follow my father's principle wishes for the publication.

I will forever be grateful to him for having the belief in something that was obviously so very personal to me, but equally a huge commitment and financial risk for him.

He will be deeply and sadly missed, but never forgotten! I know that both of you and the Genesis team will continue to produce the sort of artistic excellence and production quality/presentations he conceived over the years.

My heartfelt condolences and peaceful wishes to you both

Adam Cooper, The Michael Cooper Collection

To a great publisher: I'm afraid that my English is not good enough to express what I would write in German. My thoughts are with the family, friends and the people from Genesis.

Joerg Pieper, Verden (Germany)

My sincere condolences to the Roylance family, friends and anyone who has been touched by Brian's life. You have given us countinuos joy through the vision and dedication of your work. A true artist at heart. You will be greatly missed.

It is said that an organization is the lengthened shadow of one man. While I did not know Mr. Roylance personally, I was privileged to speak with wonderful staff, like Tessa, who reflected the care and professionalism which is the trademark of Genesis special publications. To all who worked with Mr. Roylance I especially extend my condolenscences, and to his family as well.

Ira Zinman

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Brain Roylance's untimely death. I know that he has been the guiding force at Genesis for many years and I have long admired his artistry in assembling ships' logs, song lyrics and photographs into bound volumes that served to elevate and magnify their inherent beauty. In creating this new art form, he permitted common folks like myself to feel an intimacy with the artists that would otherwise have been unattainable, and to become a member of the enthusiastic fraternity of owners of these splendid volumes that only a very few people in the world have been privileged to share. The fact that his work was renowned amongst serious book collectors as well as fans of popular music is testament to his meticulousness and craftsmanship.

I know that his loss must weigh heavily on everyone at Genesis. I hope that in the wake of his passing you will be able to honor his memory by continuing his mission. Please accept my deepest condolences. Though I did not know Brian personally, I feel that we have all lost a dear friend and a curator of priceless memories of our youth.

Very truly yours,

Alan Schiff, Wyncote, Pennsylvania, USA

Goodness. Robby, everyone at my friendly Genesis -

I had no idea. Today I had a moment of shock, quiet unbelieving, sadness. I sat quietly staring at my screen just saying "what???.......What??....."

I am so sad, so sorry. I don't exactly know why I only now found out of this tragic news, but I am not especially good at this kind of message. I only want to send my sincerest regards and condolences for this shocking news. Please accept this quiet moment I am sharing with you All - just quiet.

Thank you, Brian.

Your faithful friend in America, Eric Young

May you rest in peace Mr. Roylance. I am very grateful to you for the beautiful books you offered though Genesis and for the generosity you gave us by letting folks with modest incomes participate in obtaining these keepsake books through time payments. I always meant to write you to say thanks from the bottom of my heart. You will be greatly missed.

Harold Montgomery, Hopland, California

It seems as though Brian has touched us all in the same way, regardless of how close we were to him. Sad farewell friend, and congratulations on a life well done.

Frank Deibel

Brian... be sure to give our best to John, George, Stu, Mal, and Brian. You are so dearly missed. Your creativity will never be matched.

Dennis DuPriest

Brian's vision and creativity in Genesis created publications of which he was rightly proud and which we will always treasure. In the words of his friend, George Harrison, 'All Things Must Pass'. But the world is a less colourful place following Brian's passing.

Paul and Dawn Hanmer

We are both very sad to learn of Brian's sudden passing and send our sincere condolences to his family and work colleagues. It must be a terrible shock for everybody who was close to him. We will certainly be thinking of you and long may Genesis live on in his memory....

I was very shocked by the email I received today about the passing of Brian. I have been buying books from him since 1981, and he has always been so thoughtful to me. Over the years, I have spoken with Brian over the phone as well as received hand-written letters and Christmas cards from him. Most people would have just sent standard letters to buyers.

God Bless You, Brian!!

I first met Brian when he visited our Beatles themed store when it was in Anaheim, California. He was in town for the American Booksellers association's convention. I was immediately impressed by what Brian and I spoke about and his vision regarding his book company, Genesis Publications, Ltd. His drive, direction, and friendliness is why he succeeded not only in business but also the admiration of his many clients, but most of all the many musicians he was able to work with and call as his friends.

Mike Lefebvre of Pepperland Music

A brilliant creative publisher and a fantastic editor. A great loss in the world of Rock and Roll music in print. Thanks for the memories.

I am deeply sad to hear the passing away of Mr. Roylance. Please accept my deep condolences. He was a pioneer to link rock music with publication to give never-to-forget memory of rock to world wide music lovers. What he did was too great to mention in words.

To Brian,

Over the years I purchased several wonderful books from Brian. There were times I had questions and Brian graciously advised me that I could call him "collect" at any time....and I am in the USA!!!

He did me several favors over our twenty year relationship, replacing solendars, writing me personal letters and then recently I had what I considered a tragic disaster to my copy of "I Me Mine". I had it in what I considered a very safe warehouse (I live in Florida), but the warehouse had bugs that did the unthinkable. They got to my book and devoured the glue on the solendar to where it was ruined and unreadable. I had not talked to Brian in several years and decided to email him to see if he remembered me first of all, which he emphatically did, and he also took his own copy of the book and scanned the piece that had been eaten away, on the same type of paper with the glue on the back, made two copies of it and mailed them to me. He made my wonderful Genesis book whole again and I will always keep it close as he took such care to make sure it was done like it was done so many years ago. His parting words in his rather humourous letter were "Enjoy, glad to be of continued !

service and I hope the bugs weren't "beetles"!!!!I roared with laughter at his wit and in my heart I knew this man was the real thing, a true and caring friend who asked for nothing in return, yet gave so very much to me in human kindness and professionalism.........I will always remember you Brian and thank you for being the wonderful person you were.........

Peace, Robb Green

Sorry to hear of your passing, and thank you for the wonderful books.

Om......Cherry

I am fairly new to Genesis - Postcards was my first experience - but felt the love and warmth of Brian in every contact. I felt a special bond to him when he participated in the channel 13 broadcasts for Concert for George. A kind and gentle soul. Thanks for your brief visit.
