SONGS BY GEORGE HARRISON: Volume Two

The Signed Limited Edition Book and Record Set by George Harrison and Keith West

    Foreword by Ringo Starr
    Middleword by Harry Nilsson
    Backword by George Harrison

The Book

Volume One, which featured sixty of George Harrison's song lyrics illustrated by Keith West, one of the finest botanical watercolour artists in the world, has now sold out completely. Copies are highly prized and thus rarely appear on the second-hand market, and when they do they are in much demand.

However we do have some copies left of Volume Two, which includes fifty-nine further songs by George Harrison, beautifully illustrated in rich colours by Keith. Volume Two contains such classics as 'I Me Mine', 'My Sweet Lord', 'Something' and 'All Things Must Pass'.
We found Keith, or more correctly he found us, on a rainy day at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. Keith soon found himself travelling regularly from his cottage in North Wales to Oxfordshire to discuss with George the interpretations of his song lyrics in order to prepare the illustrations for this volume. Pencil sketches were submitted firstly for George's approval and from these the remarkable finished paintings were produced. Keith returned briefly to his native New Zealand and to Australia for a promotional tour.

The edition is limited to 2,500 numbered copies worldwide, each one hand-bound in a beautiful black three-quarter leather binding, individually numbered and personally autographed by George Harrison and Keith West.

hari As with Volume One, a recording of four more unreleased tracks accompanies the book: choose your format from CD or 7" vinyl record. The disc, which is housed in a sliding drawer inside the two-tray solander box, contains the following previously unreleased material:
  • LIFE ITSELF
(Demo version. All instruments by George Harrison.)
  • HOTTEST GONG IN TOWN
  • TEARS OF THE WORLD
  • HARI'S ON TOUR EXPRESS
(Recorded live in Washington DC in 1974.)

These four recordings are fine examples of the composer's work and are important additions to any collection. The demo version of Life Itself is of particular interest as it provides the listener with a rare opportunity to hear one of George Harrison's songs in its embryo form with all instruments played by the composer.
2,500 copies hand-bound in black three-quarter leather, in two-tray box. Each copy is autographed by George Harrison & Keith West. ISBN 0 904351 39 4

As a mark of respect for the passing of George Harrison, we are not accepting orders for Songs by George Harrison for the time being. We feel a period of reflection is appropriate. We are sure you will understand this decision.
