Ronnie Wood was named music personality of the year at the Radio Acadamy Awards ceremony in London on May 9th, beating radio greats such as BBC Radio 1's Chris Moyles, Jarvis Cocker, Frank Skinner and Scott Mills.

Veteran rocker Ronnie of the Faces and the Rolling Stones, received the award for his new series on Absolute Radio, which he has only been hosting for a year.

'This means more to me than it means to Frank, I think, because I'm the newcomer.' - Ronnie Wood, just moments after a delighted Frank Skinner had been presented with his award for best entertainment programme prize.
