John Lennon: The New York City Years
An exhibition documenting John Lennon’s time in the Big Apple, curated by Yoko Ono has opened at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Annex in New York (www.rockannex.com/lennon). It features a wealth of rare artefacts, films and photographs and runs from the 12th May 2009.
On prominent display is the work of photographer Bob Gruen, whose famous ‘New York City T-shirt’ shot has become synonymous of John and his love of the city. It was taken on the roof of Lennon’s East 52nd Street penthouse apartment on the 30th August 1974 and is just one of many intimate shots that make up the signed limited edition ‘Sometime in New York City’, which is available to order now - click here.
