Elvis Rocks Ireland
Genesis author Lew Allen is to exhibit his unique photographs of Elvis next week at the Leinster Gallery in Ireland. Entitled Elvis & The Birth of Rock, Allen is showcasing 30 vintage prints alongside copies of his Genesis limited edition book of the same name.Allen’s photographs, as featured in both the book and the show, were all taken between 1956 and 1958. Interspersed among the photographs of Elvis taken at the Cleveland Arena, are images from shows in Rochester, New York. Part of popular music bus tours through the States, they brought together many performers in one venue, which included several now-legendary groups on the bill such as Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers and Frankie Avalon.
