Snap Gallery - The Rolling Stones
Photographers Dominique Tarlé and Michael Cooper open their Rolling Stones archives this weekend, Saturday September 13, with an extensive exhibition of images at the Snap Gallery, Birmingham (UK). Tarlé shot the infamous photographs of the Stones recording Exile on Main Street at the Villa Nellcôte in southern France and Cooper, who shot the band throughout the late Sixties, produced the Satanic Majesties LP sleeve.Dominique Tarlé is flying in especially for the opening, click here for more information. Just prior to the Rolling Stones' 1972 world tour, Michael Putland was asked by the Stones to be their official tour photographer. He happily accepted, and set about creating the classic images in this volume, capturing the very essence of the excitement and fascination generated by the band.
