Elvis In England

Theatre producer Bill Kenwright has recently revealed that Elvis visited England in 1958 and was shown the sights by British singer Tommy Steele. Previously, the only officially recognised visit was in 1960, comprising a brief stopover at Prestwick Airport, Scotland. The Graceland estate is verifying these facts and has admitted that there are areas of Elvis-s life that are undocumented.

Elvis-s life will always hold a special fascination. Genesis recently published Elvis and the Birth of Rock by Lew Allen, which includes a collection of unique images taken at the Cleveland Arena in 1956, that lay hidden in Allen-s basement until recently. A newspaper strike in Cleveland meant Allen was the only photographer there and his often-candid images show an Elvis on the cusp of super stardom.

Signed, bound in blue suede and featuring a commentary from Lew, Bob and Mike McCartney, Elvis and the Birth of Rock is available to order now, click here to read more.
