Bob Marley: Exclusive Interview With Junior Marvin
Junior MarvinWe are very grateful to both Wayne Jobson and Junior Marvin, not only for taking part in the production of Kate Simon's wonderful new book on Bob Marley, but also for giving us some insight into the reggae legend in the PicureHouse.
Junior Marvin was lead guitarist with The Wailers for some 20 years, and appears on numerous Bob Marley and The Wailers albums, inlcuding Exodus, Kaya, Babylon by Bus, and Uprising. After Bob's untimely death, The Wailers remained together with Junior on lead vocals, until 1997. He has also played with and alongside a great many other names at the forefront of contemporary music history, inluding Toots And The Maytals, Burning Spear, Stevie Winwood and Eric Clapton.
Singer and musician, Wayne Jobson, whose own band Native supported Bob in Jamaica, has also recorded with a host of names familiar to Genesis's readers, including Jimmy Cliff, Keith Richards, Willie Nelson, Chrissy Hynde, and Garth Brooks. Among other things, Wayne is also an attorney and a record producer, but nowadays, both Wayne and Junior can be found at the helm of America's first nationwide reggae station, on XM Satellite Radio.
Our thanks to both Wayne and Junior for sharing some memories of Bob with us.
