Beatles Anthology Wins Award

The Beatles Anthology book, which was compiled, edited and prepared for press by Genesis Publications, was awarded the BCA Illustrated Book of the Year at the British Book Awards in London on 22 February. The awards, popularly known as the 'Nibbies', have been running since 1990 and express the book trade's own preferences of books published in the past year. Meanwhile The Beatles' hits compilation album 1 set a new world record when it hit the top of the charts in 34 countries around the world (see BBC for details). By 21 December 2000 it was apparently selling six copies per second worldwide.
